Banning Books to Erase Queer Lives

When you’re on the side of people who are banning books, odds are you’re on the wrong side, says Queerful Political Correspondent Travis Bone. Bid farewell to that children’s book about the two male penguins raising a chick together, because this week, Travis looks at HR 863, legislation that seeks to remove from schools all mention of queer lives by dubbing such books as ‘sexually explicit.’ We just want queer kids to know they can be happy and healthy and live their truth. But those people banning books don’t want kids to know that, because they can’t handle the truth: we exist. Q
