Drag is Not a Crime, But an Adult Asking a Minor to Show Them Their “Eggplant Emoji” Is

He may not be a household name but, Jan 6th and “Stop the Steal Organizer” Ali Alexander has come clean about how he used his position of “power” in the right wing movement to solicit nude pics from under age boys. This comes after another right wing provocateur, Milo Yiannopoulos has begun releasing information about the incidents.

For the record, Yiannopoulos at the time these incidents began in 2017 identified as an out gay man, but he has since claimed he is an “ex-gay”. Buckle up Queerful, this is going to be a bumpy ride through the right wing world of men who obviously have issues dealing with their repressed sexual orientation.

In a statement released Monday, Alexander, one of the planners of Donald Trump’s insurrection plot admitted, “While my audience is familiar with me battling [same-sex attraction], others aren’t as familiar. I apologize for any inappropriate messages sent over the years.”

Alexander went on to say, “Forgive me. While having repented before God and confess at Church, I want my supporters and those involved to hear my apology today. When I’ve flirted or others have flirted with me, I’ve flexed my credentials or dropped corny pick up lines. Other times, I’ve been careless and should’ve qualified those coming up to me’s [sic] identities during flirtatious banter at the start.”

He also claims, “Nothing unlawful has occurred. Seeing false claims alongside real messages is a deceptive technique. Some have retracted and other individuals say were deceptively edited which is why I waited. All of this is designed by a Literal Predator [editor’s note: Alexander’s capitalization] to take advantage of admitted sins and hurt my allies.”

But here are the facts, starting in 2017 the then 32 year old right wing provocateur solicited at least two young men who were ages 15 and 17 to send him nude pictures in exchange for access to his connections in right wing politics.

So, just to be clear, a 32 year old asking a 15 year old for nude pictures is indeed illegal and unlawful in all 50 states.

Aidan Duncan who was 15 at the time claims that Alexander requested the nude pics for “jack-off” material when he was just 15 years old and laid out rules for what he would get in exchange over SnapChat. However the 15 year old took screen shots of the messages.

“Everything is secret and private,” one rule read. “We’re family.”

“Boundaries are cool,” Alexander said adding Duncan was, “Allowed to say no. However, the less you deprive me of, the less I deprive you of. I’m a big sharing person unless it’s not even.”

By May 2019 Alexander stated in a message that the still-underage Duncan wouldn’t send him “good jack off material,” according to the screenshots.

“You don’t even send me videos anymore,” Alexander went on to say. “No good jack off material. Don’t even wanna be my side piece.”

A day later, he asked Duncan to come to Texas for a week for an “internship.”

Duncan who now goes by “Smiley” on Twitter now released the following statement:

Lance Johnston, the second young man who accused Alexander of online advances claims that he was 17 when the two started talking about politics. The conversation quickly moved towards sex and Alexander wrote “Show me ur [eggplant emoji]”

Johnston didn’t get the reference and Alexander had to explain “OMG dick”

Johnston did turn down the request and in an interview with The Daily Beast he expressed concerns saying “I thought in my mind that he would try his best to try to discredit me and ruin me politically and influentially with my time in politics.”

Of course this is all to say there is absolutely nothing wrong with Alexander being queer in any way. However, the right wing movement has made a target of the Queer community and branded drag queens doing story time for children as groomers while actual people of power within the right wing movement are using their status to solicit illegal photos from minors in exchange for access and opportunities. What people like Ali Alexander are doing is not just hypocritical, but illegal. Q
